Total Expected Benefit
₩9,907,200
* Based on a daily max of ₩68,100 / min of ₩66,048. Actual payment depends on meeting eligibility requirements such as reason for leaving and job-seeking activity.
The unemployment benefit (job-seeking allowance) calculator uses your average wage before leaving your job, your employment insurance enrollment period, and your age to compute your daily benefit amount and total expected payout. It reflects the 2026 caps: an upper limit of 68,100 won and a lower limit of 66,048 won per day.
How much will I receive?
The daily job-seeking allowance is 60% of your average wage before leaving, bounded between 66,048 won (lower limit) and 68,100 won (upper limit) as of 2026. The number of eligible payment days ranges from 120 to 270 depending on age and enrollment period, and (daily amount × eligible days) gives your total expected payout.
Who qualifies
You generally need at least 180 days of employment insurance enrollment within the 18 months before leaving your job, an involuntary separation (such as recommended resignation or contract expiration), and the will and ability to work while actively job-seeking. Voluntary resignation is excluded in principle.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still get benefits if I resigned voluntarily?
Generally not, but exceptions are recognized for justifiable reasons such as unpaid wages, workplace harassment, or an unreasonably long commute.
Why are there upper and lower limits?
To keep the payout from becoming excessive even for very high earners, while ensuring even very low earners receive at least a minimum-wage-based floor.
How is the number of eligible payment days decided?
It's based on both your age at separation and your employment insurance enrollment period, ranging from 120 to 270 days — longer enrollment and older age both increase the number of days.
Can I work a part-time job while receiving unemployment benefits?
Any income, even from short hours, must be reported. Failing to report and getting caught can be treated as fraudulent receipt, requiring full repayment plus additional penalties.
Is there an age limit to receive benefits?
There's no upper age limit, but different conditions may apply if you newly enrolled in employment insurance after age 65.
What do I need to do on each unemployment recognition date?
You must submit proof of job-seeking activity on your designated recognition dates to have that period's benefit approved.
* Based on 2026 figures. Actual receipt depends on the employment center's judgment of eligibility, including reason for separation and job-seeking activity.
